LIHUE — The upcoming empowerment workshop, “Listen to your body,” will be held next week as part of the Brown Bag Lunch series sponsored by the Kauai Committee on the Status of Women.
The goal of the series is to teach women how to overcome obstacles, become empowered and ultimately create the life they want.
The free workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on the second floor of the Lihue Civic Center, Moikeha Building, Meeting Room 1.
Participants are invited to bring their own lunch to the workshop and join other women for a thought-provoking presentation. Lunch will not be provided.
Savita Kumar, a life coach and former KCSW member, will host the workshop.
Kumar is a certified empowerment coach and received her coaching certification from the S.W.A.T. Institute (Simply Woman Certified Training). Kumar is committed to helping women take charge of their lives and be able to share their unique strengths with their families and communities.
The KCSW is part of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, which strives to advance the status of women and girls by acting as a catalyst for positive change through advocacy, education, collaboration and program development.
The KCSW meets on the third Wednesday of the month. The next scheduled meeting is on Nov. 19, 5 p.m., Lihuee Civic Center, Moikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A and 2B.
