Mildred Okamoto
Mildred Wakayo Okamoto of Wailua Houselots passed away at home on September 20, 2014, at the age of 97. She was born in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii on July 1, 1917, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jiro Okamoto.
She is survived by three sons, Alan Okamoto of the Big Island, Brian Okamoto of Wailua Houselots, Charles (Nellie) Okamoto of Princeville; one daughter, Grace (Thomas) Yamashita of Oahu; brother, Donald (Harriett) Yoshina; sister, Kathleen Saito; 7 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Okamoto family with arrangements.
Valie Acorda Visaya
Valie Acorda Visaya of Kekaha, Kauai passed away on September 28, 2014 at the age 78 at Straub Hospital. Born on February 27, 1936 in Isabella, Philippines, he was a housekeeper.
She is Survived by her husband: Joaquin Visaya, two daughters: Eliza Villarino & Evelyn (Robert) McClury, her three sons: Villamor (Loida) Visaya, Jhomar (Kathy) Visaya, Nelson (Branda) Visaya, her sister Perpetua Ilarde, her 15 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday October 11, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:00 am to 9:45 am, where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Donna Yamamoto of Koloa passed away on Septmeber 18, 2014 at the age of 58. She was a tennis club attendant at Poipu.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claudio & Lillian Lumacad, and is survived by her former husband Robert Yamamoto, her children Lon (Malia) Raposas, Donya (Tony) McKnight, Dane (Darcy) Yamamoto, Rusty Yamamoto, her brother, Claude (Karen) Lumacad, her grandchildren, Kylie, Nissa, Navaeh, Kalawaia, Mailani & Kainnan, & family, friend Deuce Psstibone.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014, at Kukuiula Boat Harbor at 10am. Leis welcome. Arrangements were handled by Brothwick Mortuary.

Wendy Eve Pellegrino of Puhi, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on September 29, 2014 at her residence at the age of 73. Born in Long Beach, California on July 22, 1941, she was a nurse receptionist.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin & Betty Martin her sister, Molly Martin and survived by her husband, Joseph “Frank” Pellegrino, Puhi, her sons, Peter Schiffer, Kapaa, Tiger Schiffer, Kapaa her daughters, Tina Luke, Aiea, Kimi (Leo) Kawelo, Wainae, 8 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews & cousins and friends
A celebration of Life is to be announced at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa, Kauai.

Ramona Salud Villa of Hanamaulu passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 28, 2014, at the age of 87. She was born in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on August 11, 1927, and worked for many years at Wailua Marina Restaurant.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Villa. She is survived by her three daughters, Lorenza Salud of Hanamaulu, Eliza (Miles) Koide of Puhi, Joselyn (Scott) Collins of Hanamaulu; 6 grandchildren, Sylvia (Scott) Salud-Rayno, Anne (Scott) Maichel, Arlene (Roger) Hyde, Janice (Jeff) Doty, Shaun Koide, Sara Koide; 6 great-grandchildren, Madison Rayno, Luke Rayno, Samantha Doty, Chase Doty, Kaitlyn Doty, Dakota Maichel; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, Lihue Baptist Church with viewing from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Villa family with arrangements.

Artemio “ Art” S. Melchor of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on September 26, 2014 at Garden Isle Healthcare. Born on August 4, 1922 n Ilocos Norte, Philippines he was a mechanic and a farmer.
He is Preceded in death by his parents, Clemente & Juana Melchor, daughter, Gayle Melchor, brother, Crisogono Melchor and is survived by his wife, Rosamilia “Rose” Melchor, Koloa daughter, Merlyn (Jeff) Craddock, Wailua Homesteads, Lily (Bob) Davies, Washington, Diane (Mark) Beeksma, Omao, Suzie (Michael) Schad, Washington, son, Artemio (Audrey) Melchor Jr., Big Island, 10 grandchildren, sisters, Crispina, Rosa and Florita, brothers, Anacleto, Ben, Manuel & Geronimo, & numerous extended family members.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday October 11, 2014 at Kauai Christian Fellowship Church, Poipu. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, with service at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery
