LIHUE — National Football League free agent defensive back Eric Frampton will host a host a youth football clinic on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Isenberg Park in Lihue.
The seven-year NFL veteran and Lihue resident said he’s attended some flag football games on the island and was “blown away” with the players’ enthusiasm for football but also wants to help them improve their technical skills.
“They’re super competitive. They’re really into this game,” Frampton said. “If this is something they want to pursue in the future, this can give them confidence (to do that). It would give them a leg up because they’d understand these concepts.”
The theme for this clinic is, ‘Teamwork, technique, leadership and discipline.’
“I tell them that these characteristics, things that have helped me get really far in football, these things also apply to life,” Frampton said.
The clinic, which is hosted in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii-Kauai, will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Email Frampton at eframpton95111@gmail.com for more information.
