LIHUE — Recent activity on the Waimea Valley had to do with removing hazardous materials, said Kauai Police Chief Darryl Perry.
Perry stated Waimea residents may have noticed an increased police presence in Waimea Valley throughout the weekend while the local police worked with federal law enforcement agencies to remove hazardous materials from a residence.
All hazardous materials have been safely removed from the property and no injuries were reported during the three-day operation, according to the announcement.
KPD and federal partners continue to investigate this incident and declined to release any details.
