Motorcycle rider injured

LIHUE — A Kalaheo man was injured late Monday afternoon when his motorcycle ran into an SUV.

According to county information, officers from Kauai Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at around 5:10 p.m. on Kuhio Highway fronting AT&T and Walmart.

The 53-year-old male victim was traveling north on the inner lane of traffic when his Harley Davidson motorcycle rear-ended a Mitsubishi Montero. The Montero then rear-ended the Honda Civic in front of it.

The motorcycle operator suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by medics to Wilcox Memorial Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
