Jessie Fong
Jessie Marie Sam Fong of Lihue passed away at home on September 16, 2014, at the age of 73. She was born in Koloa, Kauai on September 21, 1940, and retired as a Food and Beverage Secretary with Coco Palms Hotel.
Preceded in death by her father, Edward Medeiros.
She is survived by her mother, Otilda Medeiros; four children, Gerald (Divina) Rapozo, Sandra (Tom Jr.) Gonsalves, Mel (Patsy) Rapozo, Brian (Noreen) Rapozo; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; sister, Edwina Saunders; brother, Edward (Jenny) Medeiros; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall with visitation from 10:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 12:00 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted Jessie’s family with arrangements.
Arthur Kashiwai
Arthur Kenichi “Kenbo” Kashiwai, 78, of Honolulu, owner of Chemstruction Systems Hawaii and a Korean War Army veteran, passed away at Queens Medical Center on August 25, 2014. He was born in Waimea, Kauai on December 8, 1935.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Kashiwai of Oahu, son, Jason (Denice) Kashiwai of Oahu, daughter, Darlene Kashiwai of Kauai, 3 grand children, Mari and Mason Lorenzo of Kauai; Shiloh Kashiwai of Oahu, 1 great grand daughter, Tehani Togioka of Kauai, and sister, Yoshiko (Kuraichi) Hirokawa of Kauai. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Oahu at 5:00 p.m. Services to be held at 6:00 p.m. Casual attire.
Kiyoshi Nakae
Kiyoshi Nakae of Hanamaulu passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 15, 2014, at the age of 92. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on September 23, 1921. A veteran of the United States Army, he retired as a maintenance worker from Coco Palms Hotel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Nakae; brothers, Masato and Satoru; sister, Misayo Morimoto.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen (Myles) Uyesono and Allison (Michael) Ageno; three grandchildren, Ryan Uyesono, Bryce Ageno and Jacey Ageno; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Lihue Hongwanji Mission with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors at 2:00 p.m.

Kingstyn Texeira
Kingstyn Jesus Texeira, son of Ruben Texeira and Ashley Blackstad, was born and died on September 3, 2014.
He is also survived by his sister Zylah Blackstad; paternal grandparents Ronald and Carol Alalem; maternal grandmother Bessie Kaui; maternal grandparents Billy Blackstad and Leo Alejandro; paternal great-grandfather Michael Texeira Sr; paternal great-grandmothers Eva Keaweehu and Dolores Kama; maternal great-grandparents Michael and Sharon Blackstad; maternal great-grandmother Sandra Kaui; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Cremation was handled by Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Maria Carvalho
Maria “Aunty Molly” Souza Carvalho of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on September 12, 2014 at the age of 94. Born in Hanamaulu, Kauai on March 11, 1920, she was a custodian for Sacred Hearts Academy in Kaimuki until her retirement.
She is survived by her nieces: Phyllis Silvas, Rosemarie Manago, Sharon Blackstad, Patricia Kualii, Bettylou Carvalho, Marsha Carvalho, Sandra Chang; nephews: Stanley Carvalho, Bernard Carvalho Sr., Wendell Marques, Jimmy Roy Carvalho, Bobby Carvalho, Sonny Perreira, Allen Perreira, numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, and Caregiver Juanita Perreira.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Mililani Memorial Park, Makai Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Service to begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
