The Kauai Interscholastic Federation football matchup between Kapaa and Waimea High schools that was set for the afternoon of Saturday has been rescheduled.
The games will instead be played that evening. The junior varsity game will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity.
“Agreement was based on the almost no moon conditions, early and still outside of the fledging time frame, and highly unlikely risk of any NESH/HAPE being traumatized,” said Kapaa High School Prinicpal Daniel Hamada in a news release. “Want to thank participants from the County of Kauai, U.S. Fish and WildLife, DLNR, and KIF board members coming together for a very productive meeting.”
