Demetrio Dace
Demetrio “Diming” Racca Dace of Puhi passed away at home on August 23, 2014, at the age of 78. He was born on June 21, 1936 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and retired as a Drip Operator with McBryde Sugar Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Macario and Ysidra Dace; sister, Juanita Realista; son, Darrell Dace and granddaughter, Sienna Mae Dumlao.
He is survived by his wife, Trinidad Dace; five daughters, Marylou (Jose) Dumlao, Marlyn Dace, Dial Dace (Billy Celino) all of San Jose, California, Maribelle (Jessie) Semana of Puhi, Tracy (Christopher) Jambaro of Oahu; one son, Rolando (Toni) Dace of Puhi; 9 grandchildren, Brent Dumlao, Jose (Jacklyn) Dumlao Jr., Janna Dumlao, Shannon Semana, Angela Semana, Aubree Jambaro, Kaydee Jambaro, Blake Jambaro, Tyler Dace; 1 great-grandchild, Ryzah Mae; two brothers, Taurino (Gwen) Dace of Washington, Alejandro (Lydia) Dace of California; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on September 13, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. by Fr. Jerry Somera. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Shigeru Kiyabu
Shigeru Kiyabu of Wailua passed away on August 19, 2014 at the age of 94. Born on December 11, 1919 in Honolulu. He was a retired Carpenter of the Hawaii Carpenter’s Union.
He is survived by his children, Arleen (Roy) Hiraiwa, Ronald Harada, Bernard (Anne) Kiyabu, Cathay (Nobu) Matsuyoshi, Raymond Kaipo (Lovey) Napoleon and Starley (Jarret) Medeiros
Grandchildren, Kari (Edwin) Hiraiwa-Catabona , Tina (Barry) Kiyabu-Crowell, Maycia (Guy Ibos) Matsuyoshi, Kiilani Matsuyoshi, Noa Matsuyoshi, Jackie (Kalai) Kaina , Tia Napoleon, Kainoa (Cheydon) Jacobs, Awai Dejos, Jance Medeiros, Jaistin Medeiros and Jaley Medeiros and (9) Great Grandchildren.
Private Services were held at the Lihue Public Cemetery.

Patrick Medeiros
Patrick Edward Medeiros, 73, of Lihue passed away at his home in Lihue on September 7, 2014. A retired golf course marshall, and a veteran of the United States Navy, he was born on July 23, 1941 in Lihue.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Medeiros, five daughters; Ranae (Edward) Vicoy of Wailua, Julie (Darren) Nygaard of Colorado, Lori (Tony) Cardenas of Lawai, Laura (Dave) Cristobal-Andersland of Kalaheo and Teri (Chad) Cataluna of Lihue, thirteen grandchildren; Randy, Eliza (Junior), Jenna (Ben), Charmonieux (John), Dominica, Michael (Achel), John, Sean (Jessika), Nicole (Nelson), Nathan (Zenda), Chelane, Shaston (Deja) and Shaidon (Justyce) and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Manuel Medeiros, sister, Marlynn Kuhaulua and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at the Hanapepe Veteran’s Cemetery beginning at 10:00am Saturday, September 13, 2014. Services will begin at 11:00am with military honors and inurnment to follow. The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests aloha attire.

Judy Beane
Judy Christensen Beane of Koloa, Kauai, died on September 7, 2014 at home at the age of 67. Born on March 15, 1947 in Los Angeles CA, she was an Assistant Television Producer, a realtor, and creative entrepreneur.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Beane, step-daughters, Tanya Stott and Amanda Beane, sister, Mary Jo Shartsis and brother-in-law, Arthur Shartsis of Piedmont, CA, and nephews, Matthew Shartsis of Oakland, Alexander Shartsis of Piedmont, CA, and Benjamin Shartsis of New York City.
Celebration of Judy’s life towards the end of the year will be scheduled.

Sandra Seibert
Sandra Emie Seibert of Koloa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 24, 2014, at the age of 67. She was born in Kekaha, Kauai on August 21, 1947 and retired as a hostess with Green Garden Restaurant.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Seibert and parents, Noboru “Kenneth” Shirai and Isumi “Mabel” Shirai.
She is survived by her son, Shane (Tanya) Seibert; 3 grandsons, Sabbath, Sage and Styles Seibert; brothers, Clyde (Shirley) Shirai, Myles (Julie) Shirai; sister, Janice (Mark) Maehata; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Hanapepe Pavilion beginning at 12:00 noon.

Arthur “Art” Riola of Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away at his residence on September 2, 2014 at the age of 78. He was a retired Electrical Mechanical Designer and he was in The United States Navy.
Preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano & Alfonsa Riola, sisters, Catherine Wong, Sylvia Mitsuda, Carol Taira, brother, Alex Riola, wife, Jennie Riola.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Les) Gottlieb, son, Philip (Marianne) Riola, brothers, Anthony (Rosina), Lawrence (Julie) and Franklin (Rose) Riola and 2 grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday September 13, 2014 at Saint Sylvester’s Catholic Church, Kilauea. Visitation at 8:00 A.M. Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery, Kilauea. Casual attire is suggested.

Shizue Nakata of Koloa, Kauai, died on September 7, 2014 at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 92. Born on April 22, 1922 in Koloa, Kauai, she was a loving baby sitter for her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Hatsuki Nakata, parents, Muneji and Tama Sukisaki, brothers, Iwao and James Sukisaki, and sisters, Yuriko Shimonishi and Ayako Michioka.
She is survived by her five daughters, Nora Masuda, Katherine Vasconcelles, Gloria (Richard) Kusumoto, Karen (Gary) Miyahara, and Joy Nakata Muranaka, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
