LIHUE — Both the Red Raider boys and girls teams won in the Kauai Interscholastic Federation bowling season opener Thursday at Lihue Lanes.
The Kauai boys swept all three games against Kapaa and Waimea with total scores of 884, 759 and 941.
The Red Raider boys earned 12 team points at the end of the night. Kapaa got seven team points and Waimea got 5.
Allan Bueno was the only bowler to score above 200, with a 210 in Game 1.
Caleb Keohohou rolled the highest single-game score for Kapaa with 165 in Game 1. Kailen Pablo-Otoman did the same for Waimea with a score of 154 also in Game 1.
The Kauai girls squeaked by on team points with 10. Kapaa got 9.5 team points and Waimea got 4.5.
Kapaa’s Kelsey Kangiser rolled the highest single-game score among the girls with 188 in Game 1.
Jaden Decosta-Caalim got the highest single-game score for Kauai with 158 in Game 2 and Waimea’s Selena Perez-Suniga scored 164 in Game 2.
The schools will meet again 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Lihue Lanes.
