Man faces prison for drugs, violence

LIHUE — A Kapaa man faces five years in prison following a change of plea on drug charges and resisting arrest.

Robin Keith Servantes, 51, was in 5th Circuit Court on Thursday to change his plea to no contest in two cases.

The plea agreement stipulates the state would ask for concurrent five-year prison terms terms for the felony charges.

Servantes pleaded in one case that on May 25 he was in possession of methamphetamine and resisted arrest by Kauai police officers.

In the second case, he pleaded to another charge of possessing methamphetamine on Dec. 2, 2013.

Chief Judge Randal Valenciano scheduled sentencing for Jan. 8. Servantes remains held at Kauai Community Correctional Center.
