Koloa brush fire near homes

A brush fire threatened a home near a residential area at Waikomo Road and Kapau Road in Koloa late Wednesday.

Firefighters had the blaze under control but reported a new flare up by 5 p.m. County Air 1 helicopter flew water drops until 6:30 p.m. The fire was reported to be approaching a home before it was extinguished about 7 p.m.
