Lydia Castillo
Lydia Cardinez Castillo of Yorba Linda, CA passed away on June 15, 2014 at the age of 71. Born in Waimea, Kauai on July 12, 1942 she was a retired business owner & bookkeeper.
Preceded in death by her father, Steven Cardinez; mother, Evelyn Mitsue Estrada; brother, Ronald Cardinez.
She is survived by her husband, Orlino “Tash” Castillo; sons, Mark (Kim), Kawika (Monica), grandchildren, Derek, Ricky, Kelli, Ke`ale; step-mother, Evelyn “Nana” Cardinez; sisters, Fran Satoe Bunao, Carol (Burt) Gonsalves, Celia (Roy) Okubo, Alicia Estrada, Nelda (David) Banquel; brothers, Clarence (Carmen) Cardinez, Michael Cardinez, Manolo (Ces) Delos Reyes, James (Angela) Delos Reyes, Steven Cardinez, Alex (Shari) Cardinez, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A celebration of life was held at Hurless Barton Park in Yorba Linda, CA on June 29, 2014.

Richard Jay Furumoto of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai passed away on July 2, 2014. An avid fisherman and hunter he worked for the banquet department at St. Regis Princeville, Kauai.
Preceded in death by his father Sueo Furumoto.
He is survived by his wife Amanda “Mandy” Furumoto; mother Beatrice and sisters, Alix (Lou) Jordain, Colene Shaefer, Avis (Gerard) Koerte; brothers, Mark (Tracie), Kerry, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Waikaea (Lihi) Small Boat Harbor, Kapaa, Kauai.
Timothy Chang Wo Jr.
Timothy Lee Yuk On Chang Wo Jr. passed away on July 6, 2014 at Honolulu at age 30. He was born on March 8, 1984 in Honolulu.
Preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Dinnie Marie Luis and maternal grandfather, Dionicio Luis.
He is survived by his son Tykei Chang Wo and daughter Jordyn Maruyama-Chang Wo, both of Kekaha; father, Mr. Timothy Chang Wo Sr., brothers, Pomaikai Chang Wo of Oahu and Po’okela Chang Wo of Kalaheo, sisters, Dolores Luis of Kalaheo, Ailina-Marie Chang Wo, and Dejarene Chang Wo of Kalaheo, maternal grandmother Dolores D. Luis of Kalaheo, paternal grandfather Henry Chang Wo of Ewa Beach, Aunt Roxanne Laguatan and Uncle David Laguatan of Kalaheo, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 9 to 11 am, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Service will begin at 11 am.

Michael Caughey
Michael “Mike” Allen Caughey of Hanamaulu passed away at home on July 11, 2014, at the age of 58. He was born in Long Beach, California on December 26, 1955. He loved working in his garden and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Deloris Miller of Hanamaulu; brother, Daniel Robert Caughey of Hanamaulu; sister, Terri Cantu of Texas; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
Services are pending.

Hiroko Matsuoka
Hiroko Nada Matsuoka of Ele’ele passed away on July 7, 2014 at home at the age of 80. She was born on July 25, 1933 in Makaweli, Kauai and was a cashier/head baker at Thrifty Mart.
Preceded in death by her parents, Zenkichi and Tsuneko Nada; and brothers, Torao “Jack” Nada and Yoshiyuki Nada.
She is survived by husband Hiroshi Matsuoka; daughters, Verna (Kenneth) Nobriga of Puhi and Lisa Matsuoka of Oahu; two grandchildren, Klarisse and Kira Nobriga; brother, Yukio “Herbert” (Ethel) Nada of Honolulu; sister, Fujiko (Sadamu) Akamine of Kekaha; sisters-in-law, Irene Nada of Hanapepe and Sue Nada of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 10:30 am. Aloha attire. No flowers.

Celeste Lee
Celeste June “CJ” passed away on July 11, 2014 at the Kaua`i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. Born on March 8, 1945 in Puunene, Maui. She retired in 1991 from Maui Memorial Hospital after 21 years and then retired again from Hawai`i Pacific Health in June 2013 after 20 years as a Professional Coder.
Preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Solomon Lee and Mabel Cambra Lee.
She is survived by her daughter, Zoya (Kyle) Lee-Zerkel of Manssas, Virginia; grandsons, Dylan Kaupe, of Anchorage, Alaska; Kyle Oliver Zerkel and Noah Zerkel of Manassas, Virginia; sister, Leona (June Jones) Yap of Kahului, Maui; brothers, Solomon (Jeanette) Lee of Pukalani, Maui, Curtis (Ella Midge) Lee of Makawao, Maui, Bruce (Joanne) Lee of Pukalani, Maui; god-daughter, Aloha Mapuana Thompson of Wailuku, Maui; Best friend, Valerie Winchester, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & aunties.
A celebration of Life will be held at the Kaua`i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and burial to follow. There will be a second memorial in Maui at a later date.

Robert ‘Bob’ Nesti
Robert “Bob” A. Nesti 24 Year Kauai resident of Princeville Died on July 2, 2014 at home, at the age of 77. Born in Manhattan, the son of Anthony and Martha Nesti. He was a retired Regional Director with Boehringer Ingelheim. Bob grew up on the east coast and in the spirit of adventure, uprooted his young family and moved to California. He later decided that Kauai was where he and his late wife Melinda wanted to spend their golden years.
He is survived by his 6 children, Robert Jr & Luice, Thomas & Petra , Tony & Betsy, Joann, Kim & Bogen, Sean & Tiffini. His brother Anthony Nesti Jr, Sisters; Francesca Gabrielli, Janet Schubert, Michelle Nesti & Yvonne Rockwell, His 7 Grandchildren; Lisa, Sarah, Bella, Hanalei, Nicolas, Jackson, & Ava.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Tuesday July 29th at 10:00 AM at the Wai’ oli Hui’ia church in Hanalei (Also known as the Green Church) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
