Robert L. Liaga
June 7, 1933 – June 7, 2014
Robert Leonica Liaga, 81, of Houston passed away on his birthday, June 7, 2014. Robert was born on June 7, 1933 in North Hilo, Honohina, Hawaii to parents, Antonio and Luciana (Cinco) Liaga. Robert graduated from Kapa’a High School in Lihue, Kauai in 1953. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 until 1974.
He married Georgia Lane on August 27, 1983. They moved from San Diego, California to Rosharon, Texas in 2008. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Georgia in 2013; his parents, Antonio Liaga and Luciana Cinco Liaga; and brother Richard Liaga.
He is survived by his children: Troy Liaga, Barbara Ketcher and Marc Liaga, of Vista California; Gary Lane of Magnolia, Texas, and Sheree Britt and Lori Lane of Rosharon, Texas; his sisters: Mercedes Pagatpatan of Waipahu, Hawaii and Katherine Ramboyan of Lihue, Kauai; grandchildren: Nicole, Kristina, Jessica, Toni, Josh, Robby, Belinda, Vanessa, Angelina, Brandie, Dana, Gary Jr., Cindy and Bonnie; and great-grandchildren: Junior, Alexis, and Cali.

Hatsuyo Maeda
Hatsuyo Maeda of Lihue passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on June 21, 2014, at the age of 92. She was born in Koloa, Kauai on August 20, 1921. She was a dedicated homemaker and was a former employee at Tip Top Motel Café & Bakery.
Preceded in death by her husband, Matsuo “Charles” Maeda; daughter, Lorraine Fuchigami; sisters, Yaeko Ishii, Kikue Nagato and Helen Ota; brothers, Akira and Charles Ishii.
She is survived by two sons, Wallace Maeda of Aiea, Oahu, Larry (June) Maeda of Aiea, Oahu; one daughter, Doris (Rod) Maeda-Daligcon of Lihue; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Haruko Otsubo of Lihue, Tomiko Kabazawa of Kalaheo, Lillian Makizuru of Koloa; brother, Takeshi (Reiko) Ishii of Carlsbad, California; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Lihue Baptist Church with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. Family graciously declines flowers and suggests casual attire.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Maeda family with arrangements.
Alyssa Schuh
Alyssa Schuh of Honolulu passed away on June 29, 2014 at the age of 54 at Samuel Mahelona Hospital. Born in Wisconsin.
She is Preceded in death by her father, Calvin Schuh.
She is survived by her Mother Marilyn Schuh, Honolulu; brother, Mitchell Schuh, Honolulu and sister, Alanna (Thomas) Ringmayr, Germany.

Elsie Ferreira
Elsie P. Ferreira of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai, passed away on June 30, 2014 in Waianae, Hawaii at the age of 86. She was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Picanso and Mabel Silva; husband Edmund Silva Ferreira, Sr., and brothers, Patrick Picanso and Joseph Picanso.
She is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Alika) Perkins, Edmund Silva (Faye) Ferreira, Jr., John Silva (Candace) Ferreira, Herman Silva (Michael) Ferreira, Barbara Jean (James) Cook, Michael Silva (Nani) Ferreira, Bernadette Louise (Chris) Nelson; sister, Margaret Borges of Tiburon, CA. 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 18th at the Sacred Heart’s Church Old Government Road, Waianae, Hawaii from8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. visitation, 9:30 to 10 a.m. program, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. mass. Burial to follow 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park at Ka Uka Blvd.
Audrey Carvalho
Audrey M. Carvalho of Lihue, Kauai Passed away on July 1, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. Born on September 27, 1944 on Kauai, Hawaii, she Retired from Immaculate Conception School & KEO.
She is survived by her sisters Patricia (Wilfred) Kualii, Sharon (Michael) Blackstad, Valerie McGurn, Marcia (T.J.) Jimenez, Elizabeth “Betty” (Sonny) Ibaan; Brothers: James (Joann) Carvalho, Sr. and Robert Carvalho, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:00 am to 9:45 am Where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
