Car overturns in Kapaa traffic crash, driver uninjured

A one-car crash on the Kapaa bypass road Sunday resulted in the vehicle overturning and landing on its roof. The driver and sole occupant was uninjured. The 27-year-old Kapaa man was traveling north about 3/10-mile from the bypass/Kuhio Highway junction at approximately 5 a.m. when he fell asleep and the crash occurred.

A preliminary report indicates that the man’s vehicle went off the roadway, collided with a guardrail, overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Both lanes were closed for about 40 minutes for vehicle removal.
