LIHUE — The victim of a Wailua River kayaking mishap has been identified.
Kauai Police Department confirmed on Tuesday that the body of a woman recovered in a stream near the Wailua River on Friday was identified as Debbie Pascus, 56, of King George, Va.
Preliminary autopsy results show that Paskas sustained injuries consistent with a fall from a height.
Foul play is not suspected in the cause of her death, according to police.
Pascus rented a kayak Thursday and was reported missing after failing to return the boat that evening.
She was found floating in a stream roughly a quarter-mile past Uluwehi Falls — also known as Secret Falls — on late Friday morning.
