LIHUE — The design team for the Hardy Street improvements will provide an update on their project next week at an open house. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilcox Elementary School cafeteria.
LIHUE — The design team for the Hardy Street improvements will provide an update on their project next week at an open house.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilcox Elementary School cafeteria.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. to provide the public with the opportunity to view the project displays prior to the formal presentation, which will begin at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Among the topics that will be covered at the meeting are: The results of the traffic study for the area; traffic management plan and detours; project design features; construction schedule; and how to get information while the project is underway.
The construction phase of the Hardy Street improvements is expected to begin in May.
The project is a collaborative effort between the County of Kauai, Bow Construction Management Service, Inc., Earthworks Pacific, Inc., and SSFM International Inc. Funding for the project is provided by the Federal Highways Administration and the County of Kauai.
