G’Nell Kaleiohi Vea
G’Nell Leolani Kaleiohi Vea of Anahola passed away a Kauai Care Center on February 7, 2014, at the age of 59. She was born in Lihue on June 17, 1954, and was a dedicated homemaker and mother.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ephraim Kaleiohi II and Roberta Namakaeha Kaleiohi; sister, Glorietta Kaleiohi; hanai brother, Kingsley Gullian.
She is survived by her son, Michael Vea Jr. of Anahola; daughter, Jenna (John) Cox of Arizona; six grandchildren, Julie, Joshua, Johnna and Joseph Cox, Saphire Douglas, Kokane Maka; brothers, Ephraim Kaleiohi III, Edward Kaleiohi, Job Kane; hanai brother, Peter Lopez; sisters, Mitzie Kaleiohi of Anahola, Tanaia Kaleiohi of Anahola; Corina Kaleiohi of Kapaa, Olandra Kaleiohi of Hanamaulu; hanai sister, Yukie-Lynn De Silva; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Anahola Beach Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Primitivo Ramos
Primitivo “Primo” Edralin Ramos of Hanamaulu passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on February 20, 2014, at the age of 88. He was born in San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on November 27, 1925, and retired as a laborer with Lihue Sugar Plantation.
Preceded in death by his wife, Maria; granddaughter, Michelle Ramos and grandson, Crescencio Ramos Jr.
He is survived by five sons, Reynaldo (Marjorie) Ramos, German (Mila) Ramos, Samuel (Renee) Ramos, Crescencio “Cres” (Becky) Ramos, Jerry (Emily) Ramos; one daughter, Gladdy (Angel) Palaroan; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sister-in-laws, Juanita Ramos of Kauai, Marcelina Ramos of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Jerri Jasper
Jerri Renee Jasper of Lihue, Hawaii, died on February 27, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 54. Born on January 1, 1960 in Pendleton, Oregon, she was a retired co-founder/owner and vice-president of Hawaii Movie Tours.
Preceded in death by her mother Jacqulyn Myers of Spokane, WA and father Richard Wassink of Rathrdrum, Idaho.
She is survived by her husband Bob Jasper of Lihue; sister Carmen (Tom) Jacoby of Spokane Valley, WA; five hanai children, nine hanai grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Kapaa Missionary Church. Visitation from 9 a.m. and service to start at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Nenita Palacio
Nenita Palacio of Eleele, passed away on March 8, 2014 at home at the age of 65. Born on September 1, 1948 in Nagbacalan, Paoay, Ilocos Norte Philippines, she worked 22 years for the Grand Hyatt as a housekeeper.
Preceded in death by her parents, Antero Sr. and Severa Cabugon; daughter, Rosenda Palacio; brothers, Antero Cabugon Jr., William Cabugon, and Edwardo Cabugon; and sisters, Romulda Cabugon, Presentacion Cabugon, and Belen Cabugon.
She is survived by her husband Reynaldo Rosales Palacio; sons, Remigio Palacio of Eleele, Rogelio “Roger” (Ann) Palacio of San Antonio, Texas, and Noel (Catherine) Palacio of Hanamaulu; daughter Erlinda “Lynn” (Julius) Ramos of Eleele, and hanai-daughter Britnelyn Palacio of Wailua; sister Flordelina Lacro of Philippines; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 22, 2014, 9:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo, Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Kimberly “Aunty Kim” Pualani Hocson of Anahola passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 2, 2014, at the age of 55. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on October 17, 1958, and was a Shift Manager at North Shore General Store.
Preceded in death by her parents, Domingo Escalante and Ruth Luka Waiwaiole; granddaughter, Kaiyah Alani and brother, Frank Escalante.
She is survived by her daughter, Lea “Kanani” (Arley Jr.) Alani of Hookena, Hawaii; god son Nick Kaneakua; long time companion, Lonny McClure; five grandchildren, Jamin Lopes, Kymani Alani, Arley Alani III, Koloe Alani, Karley Alani; hanai mom, Anne Morris; step-dad, Alfredo (Kathleen) Asuncion; step mom, Verna Escalante; siblings, Alfred Kimo Asuncion, Raymond (Sarah) Asuncion, Jan (Aloha) Kaleimamahu, Hester Franko, Maxine Cutter, Robert Escalante, Maximo Escalante, Moroni Escalante, Angela Escalante, Moses Escalante, Raylene Garcia, Donna Mae Kuhns; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Samuel Ramos
Samuel Martinez Ramos of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2014, at the age of 61. He was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines on May 24, 1952. He retired from Lihue Sugar Plantation as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was employed by Smith’s Tropical Paradise as Maintenance Personal and Landscaper.
Preceded in death by his daughters, Michelle and Leilani Ramos; parents, Primitivo and Maria Ramos.
He is survived by his wife, Reynalda “Renee” Ramos; son, Samuel “Jun” (Kanani) Ramos Jr.; four grandchildren, Alyssa Lardizabal, Xandra Ramos-Masumoto, Alexis Ramos, Pua’ala Akui-Ramos;four brothers, Reynaldo (Marjorie) Ramos, German (Mila) Ramos, Crescencio “Cres” (Becky) Ramos, Jerry (Emily) Ramos; one sister, Gladdy (Angel) Palaroan; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.
