Florendo Melchor Sr.
Florendo Macadaeg Melchor Sr. of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 4, 2014, at the age of 82. He was born in Laoag City, Philippines on August 28, 1931, and retired as a Research Associate with University of Hawaii Experiment Station.
He is survived by his wife, Consorcia “Connie” Melchor of Kapaa; seven children, Celia (Ferdinand) Questin of Kapaa, Josie (Tony) Aurelio of Lihue, Amy (Larry) Tamayo of Kapaa, Myrna (Douglas) Patterson of Ewa Beach, Florendo (Imelda) Melchor Jr. of Lihue, Agnes (Aristotle) Santa Cruz of Ewa Beach, Nelia (Rodel) Asuncion of Kapaa; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapaa with viewing from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Melchor family with arrangements.
Maria Bolosan Valenciano
Maria Bolosan Valenciano of Hanapepe, Kauai, died on January 16, 2014 at the age of 86. Born on August 15, 1927, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Preceded in death by husband, Placido Valenciano, and daughter, Mary Sandra Claire Valenciano.
She is survived by her sons, Placido (Michelle) Valenciano and Randal (Debbie) Valenciano, both of Lihue; daughters, Patricia (Roland) Pablo of Waimea, Glenda (Reynold) Miyazaki of Lawai, Marilyn (Walter) Billingsley of Oahu, and Crystal (Bob) Rowe of Wailua; fourteen grandchildren, Jayson Pablo, Tracy (Pablo) Sanchez, Corey Pablo, Travis Miyazaki, Craig Miyazaki, Geoffrey Billingsley, Tony Billingsley, Logan Rowe, Whitney Rowe, Stephen Valenciano, Ryan Valenciano, Marisa Valenciano, Dreana Valenciano, and Randon Valenciano; five great-grandchildren, Courtney Guirao, Jack Billingsley, Colton Billingsley, Malie Miyazaki, and Skye Sanchez; and sister, Virginia Besas of Pearl City.
Services will be held at a later date.

Randolph Chong Tim Jr.
Randolph “Randy” T. Chong Tim Jr. of Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on January 2, 2014 in Honolulu, Oahu at the age of 34. Born on April 16, 1979 at Tripler Army Medical Center, Oahu. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army 42 Alpha (Human Resources) Unit HHBN 25th Infantry Division.
He is survived by his Mother, Laura Crisman (Wesley Chiba), Lihue; Father, Randy (Crystel) Chong Tim Sr, Lihue; Uncle, Antone Chong Tim, Anahola; Sisters, Christina Chong Tim, Lihue; Violet “Pua” Balagat, Lihue; Cynthia Chong Tim, Lihue; Brother, Brian Chong Tim, Kapaa, numerous Aunties and Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Services to be held on Saturday January 25, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Lihue Ward. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Service to be held at 10:00 a.m.
Burial to follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. Family suggest aloha attire.

Dorothy Blair
Dorothy Blair of Kalaheo passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on December 31, 2013, at the age of 88. She was born in California on April 21, 1925, and retired as Manager of The Chart House Restaurant on Oahu.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Peak of Mexico, 1 granddaughter and many friends.
A fond Aloha to Dorothy will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Kapaa Neighborhood Center at 11:15 a.m.

Richard Coffman
Richard “Dick” Coffman of Lawai passed away on January 6, 2014 at the age of 87 at his home in Lawai. Born on November 25, 1926 in Santa Clara, California, he was a retired counselor for Waimea High School and owner of Lawai Valley Nursery.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Cosy Coffman, and siblings Kaye Guida, and Kenney and Roger Coffman.
He is survived by his wife Helen Coffman; daughters, Linda (Keith) Silva, Laura Owens (0ahu), Lana Coffman; son, Spencer Coffman; brother, Paul (Marge) Coffman (CA); 2 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private services were on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
Gaudencio ‘Dean’ Igaya
Gaudencio “Dean” Igaya of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away at Straub on January 8, 2014 at the age of 52. Born on August 31, 1961 in Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines, he was a Houseman at Sheraton.
He is survived by his three sons, Frankie Sapalazan of Hanapepe, Jeffrey Aquino Igaya of Philippines, and Darryl Aquino Igaya of Honolulu; parents, Severino and Saturnina Igaya; three brothers, Manuel (Eleanor) Igaya of Kalaheo, Roberto (Marita) Igaya of Kilauea, and Jose (Jessica) Igaya of North Carolina; sister, Josephine Igaya of Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 25, 2014, 9:00 am at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Service will begin at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Lihue Public Cemetery.
