Kimiye Harioka
Kimiye Harioka, 89, of Waipahu, a Green Garden Kitchen Helper, passed away at Pali Momi Medical Center. She was born in Koloa, Kauai.
She is survived by her son, Vincent (Gail) Harioka of Waipahu; 1 grandson, Michael Harioka of Pearl City; sister, Vicky Okabe of Waipahu.
Private service held. Arrangements were handled by Nu’uanu Mortuary.
Violet Hee
Violet Charlotte Lee Hee, of Lihue passed away at her home on October 4, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born on Oahu on March 25, 1916. She retired from a long career in education having taught at Hanamaulu School and Waimea High School, then serving as an educational officer at the Department of Education’s District Office in Lihue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hong Min Hee, brothers Dr. Alexander (Vivian) Lee, Henry (Clara) Lee and grandson Rick L. Demaris. Shortly after her death, her sister, Mable (Kaipo) Cornwell of Honolulu passed away.
She is survived by her three sons Stephen M. (Arlene) Hee of Brush Prairie, WA, Bob A. Hee of Waimea, Kauai and Randall J. (Nancy) of Kekaha, Kauai; three grandchildren Malia (Brian Flannery) Hee of Corvallis, OR, Noelani (Jeffery) Schille of Vancouver, WA and Puanani Hee of Kekaha, Kauai; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue with visitation from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Aloha attire.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family suggests donations be made to Catholic Charities Hawaii, Kauai Community College (UHF Kauai CC) or Delta Kappa Gamma Eta Chapter. Please memo donations “In Memory of Violet Hee.”
William “Bill” Kinney
William “Bill” Boyd Kaipo Kinney of Wailua Houselots passed away at home on November 3, 2013, at the age of 74. He was born in Koloa, Kauai on June 25, 1939, and retired as a Radar Technician with Hawaii Air National Guard.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lei Kinney; step-son, Stephen Mardonada; grandson, Tyson Kinney.
He is survived by his wife, Marge K. Kinney; children, Yvette Kahaunaele, Kihapi’ilani Kinney, Kaipo Kinney, Jessie Yamamoto-Kinney; step-children, Kealoha Medeiros, Georgina Failautusi, Raimie Mardonada, Anthony Mardonada; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren,; sister, Vola Lauae McGwin; brother, Arthur Kailua Kinney Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 10:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 12:00 noon.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Kinney family with arrangements.
