Happy Camper for Monday, Oct. 28, 2013

Ron Wiley came down from Kokee to emcee the Kauai United Way Walk a thon (congrats to Scott Giarman, Lynnette Medrano-Stine, Lori Almarza and all the volunteers!) Saturday at the Kukui Grove Center.

Another event which comes with the Walk is Nellie Okamoto’s birthday, and the Kapaa High School Interact advisor took advantage, arriving after many of the students had already set up the food line with Ellen Ching of the Easter Seals.

Even Dimples Kano said Mike Kano beat her by four minutes this year.

Vianne Tabata was not around until afterwards because she got American Savings Bank to host the first ever water station manned by cub scouts at the turn-around near the Regency at Puakea.

Major Victor Aguilar of the Waimea Jr. ROTC was at the start of a busy day, which included volunteering at the Debbie Yanagihara coordinated craft fair benefiting Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Waimea High School homecoming.
