Abraham Ortal Sr.
Abraham D. Ortal, Sr. passed away at Hale Kupuna on October 13, 2013 at the age of 77. He was born on March 16, 1936. He is a retired truck driver from Kekaha Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife, Felicidad G. Ortal; and his three children: Jennifer G. Ortal (Jason Potter Cracolici); Marilyn O. Steele (Michael A. Steele, II); Abraham D. Ortal, Jr. He has four grandchildren: Avery Ortal; Aubrie Ortal; Michael A. Steele, III; Alexandia Steele; sisters, Salome (Daniel) Balaibe; and Prisilla Villanueva; brothers, Reynaldo (Ligaya) Ortal; and Fidencio (Perla) Ortal and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Theresa Church, Kekaha. Public viewing will begin at 9:00am with mass to follow at 10:00am. Immediately after mass, burial will be at Salt Pond Public.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary Cemetery.

Robert H. “Bob” Burnz of Omao, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 17, 2013 at his home in Omao at the age of 94. He was born on March 13, 1919 in New York City, New York. He was retired from the United States Weather Bureau and a WWII Veteran (Army Air Corps).
He is survived by sons, Robert J. (Linda) Burnz, Idaho; David (Shirlette) Burnz, Wailua Homesteads; daughter, Jeanette Cantotay, Omao; hanai daughter, Katherine Leong, Hanapepe; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
Celebration of Life to be at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eleele on Saturday, November 2, 2013 with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am.

Gregorio D. “Gorio” Bueno of Lihue formerly of Kaumakani and Lawai Kauai, Hawaii. He passed away on October 21, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. He was born on March 12, 1934 in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He was a sole proprietor of Bueno’s Construction and a Journeyman Carpenter for Olokele Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Claudio & Susanna Bueno; wife, Poinciana Bueno; daughter, Bella Bueno; sister, Cleta Dumlao.
He is survived by daughters, Cristeta (Ruben) Macalma, California; Cleo Kovarik, Honolulu; Phebe (Ted) Johnson, California; sons, Roland (Evangeline) Bueno, California; George (Kim) Bueno, California; Claurino (Kristi Lee) Bueno, Lihue; sisters, Connie (Benny) Dela Cruz, Kaumakani; Aida ( Alipio) Cristobal, Honolulu; brothers, Narciso (Puri) Bueno, Eleele; Isidro (Helenda) Bueno, Eleele; 12 grandchildren; numerous aunties & uncles & nieces & nephews & cousins & friends.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Saint Raphael’s Catholic Church, Koloa, Visitation at 8:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Lillian “Lilly” Rifkin Daily of Anini Beach, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 24, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 97. She was born on April 6, 1916 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was a homemaker and a WWII Veteran (Women’s Army Air Corp).
She was preceded in death by parents, Benjamin & Sarah Rifkin; husband, William Daily.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Littlejohn; Michele (Gerald “Naliko”) Markel; 4 granddaughters; numerous friends.
