Justice Quel
Justice John Pacifico Makana O Ka Malu Quel of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 23, 2013, at the age of 11. He was born in Honolulu on December 18, 2001, and was a student at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnette “Kaleo” Quel; maternal grandparents, John Billianor and Marie Tumbaga; paternal great grandparents, Joaquina Eulalio and Felicidad Quel and cousin, Anjannette Duyanen.
He is survived by his father, Jeff Quel; paternal grandparents, Clementine and Pacifico Quel of Hanamaulu; sisters, Jazelle; Jazzlyn and Jazzmine Billianor-Pinero of Oahu; brother, Jeff Andrade of California; paternal great-grandfather, Luis Quel of Hanamaulu; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Quel family with arrangements.
Steven M. Victorino
Steven Maurice Victorino, 68, of Lihue passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on October 12, 2013. He was born at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 1945, in Lihue, Kauai. He was the first baby of the New Year for the State of Hawaii. He retired from Hawaiian Airlines as a supervisor and also from Paradise Service Station as a manager. He recently held a temporary position at Kauai Community College as a campus security officer.
He was preceded in death by son, Steven M. Victorino, Jr. and father, Louis Victorino.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Victorino of Lihue; daughters, Tammi (Mark) Marchant of Wailua; Donna (Ray) Smith of Lihue; granddaughters, Chloe and Jessica Marchant; mother, Margaret Machado Victorino of Lihue; brothers, Ronald (Marie) Victorino, Sr., and Patrick (Sue) Victorino, Sr., both of Wailua; brother-in-law, LeRoy (Sandi) Silva of Colorado; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 26, 2013; at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Helena “H” Acierto of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on October 2, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. She was born on April 27,1929, in Eleele, Kauai. She was a Homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Basilio and Palabia Dabin; Brothers, Eulogio and Laureano “Larry” Dabin; Sister, Cosmiana “Ann” Parrilla; Son, Allen “Moose” Lopez; Grandson, Anthony Waipa; Granddaughter, Julianna M. Lopez; Great Granddaughter, Deysha K. Machado.
She is survived by her husband, Contrado Acierto; Sons, Martin “Ali” Birtodaso, Jr.; Garrick Lopez; Ronald (Jeanette) Lopez; Frederick “Joe” (Lihue) Lopez; Edmund “Eddie” (Kim) Acierto; Daughters, Kathlyn Christian; Melissa Dabin; Esther (Raynard) Machado; Bernadette “Bernie” (Shilo) Pa; 33 Grandchildren; 42 Great grandchildren; 4 Great great grandchildren; Brother, Miguel “Mike” (Linda) Albete; Sister in law, Lucy Dabin; Brother in law, Henry (Jackie) Parrilla; Hanai Daughter, Fran (Steve) Hollinger; Numerous Aunties, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Jose Caminos
Jose Caminos of Anahola passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on October 15, 2013, at the age of 78. He was born in Wahiawa, Oahu on May 24, 1935, and was employed by Castle Resorts as a security guard.
He is survived by his wife, Natividad “Naty” Caminos of Anahola; daughter, Jeannie “Missy” (Mark Fujiuchi) of Kauai; sons, Jeffrey (Lori) Caminos of Oahu, Joseph “Joey” (Kristina) Caminos of Kauai, Jason (Laura) Caminos of Kona, Jonathan (Valerie) Caminos of Kauai; hanai sons, Clyde (Oma) White of Kauai, Russell Borges of California; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Tolentino of Oahu, Encarnation Gray of California; brothers, Gale (Marilou) Caminos of Oahu, Augustine Caminos of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea with visitation from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 12 p.m.

Trinidad Dana Banquel
Trinidad “Trini” Dana Banquel of Kapaa, formerly of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 12, 2013 at her residence in Kapaa at the age of 79. She was born on February 8, 1934 in Hanamaulu, Kauai. She was a retired nurse’s aide at Samuel Mahelona Hospital.
She was preceded in death by parents, Pedro and Maria Dana; brothers, Antonio Dana and Paustino Dana; son, Russell Planas.
She is survived by husband, Lorencio “Larry” Banquel, Kapaa; daughters, Clarissa (William “Billy”) Valdez, Maui; Karen (Warren) Rita, Eleele; sons, Darrell (Enola) Planas, Maui; David Planas, Kaumakani; John (Linda) Planas, Kapaa; Terence Planas, Kapaa; Alvin “Ali” Planas, Kapaa; stepson, Lorencio “Larry” (Toshimi) Banquel Jr., Washington; Lionel Banquel, Nevada; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; numerous Aunties and Uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

Takayuki “Taxi” Kimura of Kilauea, Kaua’i passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the age of 91 surrounded by family. He was born on April 1, 1922, in Kilauea, Kaua’i, worked for Kilauea Plantation and retired with the County of Kauai.
He was preceded in death by parents, Kuniyoshi and Sato Kimura; brothers, Kiyoshi Kimura; Yukio Kimura; Seiki Kimura; Tadayoshi Kimura and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Pacheco Kimura; sons, Alan (Maile) Kimura; Don (Malia) Kimura; Karl (Corina) Kimura; Jan (Shaylyn) Kimura; Ted (Lisa) Kimura all of Kaua’i; daughters, Gale Kahao of O’ahu; Lori (Alan) Cadawas of Kaua’I; Jaymie Kimura-Kunimura of O’ahu; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Machiko (Masaru) Kimura; brother, James (Sandra) Kimura; sister-in-law, Shizu Kimura; numerous nieces and nephews.
