Marivic Mariano
Marivic ‘Mary’ Daligcon Mariano of Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii and resided in Lacey, Washington. She passed away on Aug. 26, 2013 at the age of 31 at her residence in Lacey, Washington. She was born on Aug. 20, 1982 in Waimea, Kauai. She was a preschool teacher for The Foundation Canupos and Community Christian Pre School (CCA).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gregorio Lorenzo Daligcon.
She is survived by her parents, Fernando Mariano and Gloria Daligcon Mariano; brothers, Ferdinand Mariano; James Mariano; Paul Mariano; grandmother, Victoria Daligcon; numerous Aunties, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at the Westside Christian Center in Kekaha. Family Viewing will begin at 8 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. Service will begin at 10 a.m. with Burial to follow at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Justice Quel
Justice John Pacifico Makana O Ka Malu Quel of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 23, 2013, at the age of 11. He was born in Honolulu on December 18, 2001, and was a student at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnette “Kaleo” Quel; maternal great-grandparents, John Billianor and Marie Tumbaga; paternal great grandparents, Joaquin Eulalio and Felicidad Quel and cousin, Anjannette Duyanen.
He is survived by his father, Jeff Quel; paternal grandparents, Clementine and Pacifico Quel of Hanamaulu; sisters, Jazelle Quel; Jazzlyn Quel; and Jazzmine Billianor-Pinero of Oahu; brother, Jeff Andrade of California; paternal great-grandfather, Luis Quel of Hanamaulu; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Quel family with arrangements.
Loretta Lopez
Loretta “Lorrie” Paglinawan Lopez of Makaweli, Kauai, Hawaii. She passed away on Sept. 17, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on May 30, 1932 in Puunene, Maui. She was a retired custodian for P.M.R.F.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Maria Paglinawan; son, Maurice Lopez.
She is survived by her husband, Moses “Kayo” Lopez, Makaweli; daughters, Doreen (Buz) Vasper, Aiea; Arlene (Tony) Caday, Kalaheo; brother, Danny Paglinawan, Maui; sisters, Florence Albano. Wahiawa and Connie (Conrado) DePeralta, Makaweli; Grandchildren, Larissa (Matt) Morgan, Marissa (Todd Pickering) Vasper, Alika (Michella) Vasper, Brandee (Dave) Abreu, Giselle (Brennen) Bucao, Joslyn (Kahanu) Wong and 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church, Kekaha. Visitation 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be Private at a later time. Casual attire is suggested.

Francis Hosaka
Francis Tadashi Hosaka of Kekaha passed away on Sept. 19, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Born on Sept. 13, 1934 in Honolulu, he was a Senior Master Sergeant with the Hawaii Air National Guard.
Preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Hosaka; daughter Tracy Hosaka; parents, Tamotsu and Margaret Hosaka; brothers, Jerry Hosaka and Ronald Hosaka; sisters, Evelyn Nakamoto and Elizabeth Holbron; sisters-in-law, Sue Hosaka, Barbara Jean Hosaka, and Helen Hosaka.
He is survived by his three sons, Derek Hosaka of Lihue, Ritchie (Rose) Hosaka of Waimea, and Shawn (Yvonne) Hosaka of Kekaha; daughter Dawn Hosaka; brother Eugene Hosaka of San Diego CA; brothers-in-law, Stanley Nakamoto of Makakilo, HI and William Holbron of Makakilo HI; sisters, Barbara (Kenneth) Troche of Soulsbyville CA, and Pakela Hosaka of River Bank,CA; sister-in-law Harriet Spencer; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 4 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church from 9 a.m to 11:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at oon,with burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Larry Stuefloten
Larry Stuefloten of Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 2, 2013 at the age 75. He was born on November 11, 1937 in San Jose, California. He was a retired of San Jose Police Department.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Stuefloten; Children, Deborah (Rick) Westerlund; David Stuefloten; Kathryn (Jonathan) Paul; and grand-daughter, Ella Rose.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at the Pine Trees Beach/Park Hanalei. Service will begin at 11 a.m. No flowers and casual attire.
Donations could be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society in Larry’s name.
Satsuki Taylor
Satsuki Kono Taylor of Kekaha passed away on Sept. 29, 2013 at the age of 82. Born on May 2, 1931, she was a retired Nursing Supervisor with KVMH.
She is survived by her son Richard (Kathie) Taylor of Waimea; granddaughter Jackie Taylor of Honolulu/Waimea, Kauai; brother Hiromi (Florence) Kono of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Service will be held on a later date.
