LIHUE — Deadline for employers to register for the Oct. 2 job fair is Wednesday.
Eric Nordmeier of WorkWise, Kauai said the event is one of the island’s biggest job fairs and employers seeking to fill positions are welcome to register with WorkWise before the deadline.
The Kauai Job Fair 2013 will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
People seeking jobs, either full time or part time, are welcome to meet with employers and the staff of WorkWise Kauai for help during the job fair.
During the event, applicants can learn about job training resources, job search tips, and how to prepare for an interview and write a resume.
Nordmeier said the current unemployment rate for Kauai is at 5.7 percent compared with the state’s average of 4.6 percent.
With a registered workforce of about 32,000 employable persons, that means more than 1,800 people of the employable field are seeking employment opportunities.
The 12th Kauai Job Fair is presented by the County of Kauai, WorkWise Kauai, Kauai Workforce Investment Board.
