Joseph Tachibana
Joseph Kalani Naniwa Tachibana, 74, of Kalaheo, Kauai, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 9, 2013. He was born in Kapaa, Kauai on April 9, 1939. He retired from The Kauai Bus and was co-proprietor of an Omao nursery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tatsuo and Dinah Tachibana; brother, John Martins; sister, Dinah “Tomiko” Tamura.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, Kalaheo; sons, Joseph (Phyllis) Tachibana, Ewa Beach; David Tachibana, Honolulu; Lawrence (Lisa) Tachibana, Lawai; Ellsworth Kaohi, Jr., Honolulu; daughters, Maile (Bert) Nawatani, Honolulu; Kimberly Kaohi, Honolulu; Roslyn (Steve) Choi, Kalaheo; sisters, Minerva (Charles) DePonte, Mililani; Dorothy Smith, Honolulu; brother, Jacob (Theresa) Martins, Kapaa; 15 grandchildren, Phyllicia Wachi; Misty, Brandon; Caitlin and Kaimana Tachibana; Jason and Jesse Choi; Nadine Kanohokula; Ashley and Kalani Nawatani; Tammy Atou; Kalana, Mana; Alia and Emma Kaohi; and 6 great-grandchildren, Taylor-Ann and Thomas Atou; Genisis Nawatani; Mya Higa; Kaelen Suzuki-Kaohi; and Chloe Matsuda.

Kinsley Ainsworth Guillen of Wailua, Kauai passed away on Aug. 11, 2013 at Straub Hospital at the age 59. He was born on July 25, 1954 in Honolulu, Oahu. He was a Scrimshaw Artist and a Security Guard for Garden Island Security.
Preceded in death by his mother Leonora Baldomero and brother Gary Buza. He is survived by his daughter, Kahealani “Tuni” Cummings; brothers, Leslie Guillen and Lance Guillen; sisters, Eileen Buza; Sharolyn (Malcolm) Kight; Corliss Greip; 3 grandchildren, Trysen Paik; Tejah Paik and Jhonetyn Rivera; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends can join the Celebration of Life at Anahola Clubhouse at 10 a.m on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. A scattering of ashes will be done on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at Anini Beach. Aloha attire is suggested.

Carolyn Uluwehi Kilauano
Carolyn Uluwehi Kilauano of Kekaha passed away on Sept. 10, 2013 at Home at the age of 87. Born on Aug. 14, 1926 in Waimea Kauai, she was a Travel Tax Claims Supervisor with Bank of America in California.
Preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Kawehiwa Kilauano; sister, Lauae Arashiro; and brother-in-law, Allen Yee.
She is survived by her sisters, Lorraine Togioka of Kekaha; Macy (John) Ige of California; and Wynnie Yee of California; brother-in-law, Osamu Arashiro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kekaha from 9 to 11 a.m. Service will begin at noon, with burial to follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Alexander Kaneapua
Alexander “Alika” Kaneapua of Eleele passed away on Sept. 15, 2013 at home at the age of 38. Born on January 12, 1975 in Waimea, he was a stay-home Dad.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Kaneapua.
He is survived by his companion, Rachelle “Nani” Kanehailua; son Zyon Kaneapua, and daughters Jaelyn and Jaislen Kaneapua, all of Eleele; mother Mabel Kaneapua of Hanapepe; brothers, Lawrence “Tupi” Tupulua of Massachusetts, Ipo (Coreen) Kaneapua of Hanapepe, and Joseph Kaneapua of Hanapepe; sister Melanie “Boom” Kaneapua of Kekaha; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Alika’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 2013 at Salt Pond Main Pavilion at 10 a.m.

Jose “Joe” Pagala, Sr. of Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 14, 2013 at the age of 88 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1924 in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. He was a retired service truck driver with Kekaha Sugar Co. U.S. Army Veteran, WWII.
He was preceded in death by parents, Roman and Anacleta Pagala; brothers, Melchor Baitiong; Alfredo Pagala; Aka Pagala; sisters, Romana Wamil; Isabel Pacariem; Mary Ochinang and Elena Peralta; son, Faustino Patricio, Jr.
