Happy Camper for Friday, September 13, 2013

Kudos to Sharon Lasker, Kay Cummings (check out her “Director of Fun” name tag!) and all the staff of the Regency at Puakea on a great art show Wednesday.

One of the fascinating things is learning that Judy Segawa is a poet and has several distinguished awards for poetry. And, here we thought she was only a good cook from the day’s of Judy’s which used to be located in the now-Moikeha Building.

Mary Alice Heddleston said her husband, Lt. Col. Roy Heddleston is buried on Hero’s Hill in Arlington, Va. His unit was attached to Patton’s army and he prayed for a sleet storm, which turned the tide for Patton.

Val Harjo (she’s the Dahlia Queen) came to visit mom, Terry Ellington, who said she’ll be doing a lot more Hawaii landscapes (and flowers), now that she’s in Hawaii.

OK, time to get out to the Westside…congrats to Gutsy Oyama who is one of the Waimea alumni being honored during the Waimea Alumni and Friends luau!
