Happy Camper for Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Bob Rego and Bob Boro, both of Lihue, and George Fujimoto of Hanamaulu and Alan Gushiken were waiting on Isa (he’s got a long last name, the gentlemen said) who was ordering his lunch Monday.

They were waiting on the Kyoto Tachibana band which was scheduled to perform a free lunchtime preview. Jonell Kaohelaulii, normally off on Mondays, came in special to watch her host students perform with the band.

Earlier, hats off to Kawaikini New Century Public Charter School on hosting Sen.3 Mazie Hirono to a visit of its Hawaii Natural Energy project buildings.

Kawai Hamberg (soccer goalie?), Kalelei Rogers, Kamalani Hopkins, Timmi Kanahele (he wanted to play football, but was too late), Leina Gutierrez, Haunani Moody, and Shanie Quereto (she’s with the Kauai softball team) did a great job, listening to Hirono talk about being less dependent on fossil fuel, but being able to interest the senator on the traditional hale they constructed.
