Crispin ‘Benny’ Bolosan Fernandez
Crispin “Benny” Bolosan Fernandez of Kapaa passed away at home on August 9, 2013, at the age of 69. He was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on October 29, 1943. He was employed as a courtesy clerk at Safeway store in Kapaa.
He is survived by his wife, Lucena Fernandez; four sons, Jesse (Mercy) Fernandez of the Philippines; Eugene (Dolores) Fernandez of Kapaa; Philip (Suzanne) Fernandez of the Philippines; Jemuel (Malou) Fernandez of Spain; one daughter, Lovella (Ashley) Taylor of Canada; mother, Dionisia Ragos of the Philippines; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Kapaa Seventh Day Adventist Church with viewing from 2:30 p.m. and services celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Fernandez family with arrangements.
Tokusuke ‘Toku’ Kutaka
Tokusuke “Toku” Kutaka Of Wailua Homestead, Kauai, Hawaii passed away at his home on July 27, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Wailua Homesteads. He served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from the County of Kauai.
He was preceded in death by parents, Shoki and Hatsuko Kutaka; brothers, Shinichi and Masaichi Kutaka.
He is survived by wife, Loretta Kutaka, Wailua Homesteads; step-daughters, Betty Jane (Joseph) Contrades, Anahola; Brenda (Ray) Viado, Wailua; stepsons, William (Sue) Lopes, Kapahi; John (Malyn) Kaauwai, Maui; Dorin (Dianne) Kaauwai, Wailua Homesteads; sister, Haruko (Yoshio) Awakuni, Wailua Homesteads; Aunt, Nancy Tokuda, Lihue; Grandchildren, Joseph (Val) Contrades; Lolita “Tida” (Roland) Ornellas; Greg (Roberta) Contrades; Leina Contrades; Peter (Deedee) Contrades; Moana (John) McAdams; Waiola (Dwayne) Horn; 20 Great -grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; God child, Casey Tupou; Great-great godchildren, Kaeo Rita-Tupou; Keahi Tupou, Friend and Caregiver, Joseph Arboleda.

Elaine Denny
Elaine Michiko Denny of Lawai passed away on August 11, 2013 at home at the age of 65. She was born on April 18, 1948 in Hilo, Hawaii. She was a High School Math Teacher and Registrar with Kapa’a High School.
She was preceded in death by husband, James J. Denny Sr. and parents Mineo and Sueno Kodama.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Kristy) Denny and Andrew (Janel) Denny, both of Honolulu; daughter, Janine (Anthony) Williams of Kihei, HI; brothers, Glenn (Hester) Kodama and Howard (Patti) Kodama, both of Hilo; sister, Pat (Reginald) Arai of Hilo; six grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 10 a.m. Service starts at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Hilda Torres
Hilda Torres passed away at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska on October 30, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born on March 8, 1923 in Kealia, Kauai. She worked for the Department of Education for the State of Hawaii as a contract Code-a-phone operator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Torres, Jr; son, David E. Torres, Sr. and grandson Benjamin Paul Wilterding.
She is survived by her son, Bruce E. Torres; daughter-in-law, Kelani P. Torres; daughter, Linda L. Wilterding; grandchildren, Javan K. Torres; Hildie P. Sears; David E. Torres, Jr.; Shannon R. Torres; Elias O. Wilterding; Karen Joy Wilterding; Samuel E. Wilterding; Sarah E. Wilterding and Nathan P. Wilterding; great grandchildren, Javan K. Torres Jr.; and Isaiah Sears and Ted A. Wilterding.
A memorial service will be held at The Garden Island Missionary Baptist Church, on the corner of the Kilauea Road and Oka Street in Kilauea, on Sunday, August 18 at 2 p.m. The family will be spreading the ashes on Monday, August 19, at 1 p.m at Anini Beach.
