Masaru Kawamura
Masaru Kawamura of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on August 7, 2013, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 100. He was born on February 13, 1913 Koolau, Kauai. He was a truck driver for Kilauea Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Kikuzuchi and Shizu Kawamura; wife, Kimiyo Kawamura.
He is survived by sons, Walter Kawamura, California; Gary (Nadine) Kawamura, Hilo; James (Colette) Kawamura, Kapaa; daughters, June (Hideyuki) Asakura, Tokyo; Charlotte Kawamura, California; brothers, Kiyoshi Kawamura, Kilauea; Tokiyoshi Kawamura, Kilauea; Calvin Kawamura, Oahu; sisters, Karen Mizuta, Oahu; Hanayo Moritsugu, Kilauea; Setsuko (Hideo) Watari, Hanalei; Sandra Miyabuchi, Kilauea; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
Celebration of life on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Kapaa Seventh Day Adventist Church, Visitation at 3 p.m. Service at 4 p.m. Family suggest casual attire.

Damien Victorino
Damien D. Victorino of Kapahi, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on August 3, 2013 at his home while surrounded by family at the age of 75. He was born on Kauai. He was a retired Fire Chief of the Kauai Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Elsie Victorino of Kapaa.
He is survived by wife, Elizabeth Victorino; sons, Damien Victorino, Jr. and Bill Victorino; daughter, Angela Ledee; grandchildren, Billy, Zane, Kynan, Dalton, Harlo, Tiana and Mikey; brother, Butch Victorino.
Service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa.
There will be a brief viewing from 10:15 to 10:50 a.m. with mass to follow. Following the mass there will be a luncheon at the Kapaa Baseball Park Pavilion.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Hilda Torres
Hilda Torres passed away at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska on October 30, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born on March 8, 1923 in Kealia, Kauai. She worked for the Department of Education for the State of Hawaii as a contract Code-a-phone operator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Torres, Jr; son, David E. Torres, Sr. and grandson Benjamin Paul Wilterding.
She is survived by her son, Bruce E. Torres; daughter-in-law, Kelani P. Torres; daughter, Linda L. Wilterding; grandchildren, Javan K. Torres; Hildie P. Sears; David E. Torres, Jr.; Shannon R. Torres; Elias O. Wilterding; Karen Joy Wilterding; Samuel E. Wilterding; Sarah E. Wilterding and Nathan P. Wilterding; great grandchildren, Javan K. Torres Jr.; and Isaiah Sears and Ted A. Wilterding.
A memorial service will be held at The Garden Island Missionary Baptist Church, on the corner of the Kilauea Road and Oka Street in Kilauea, on Sunday, August 18 at 2 p.m. The family will be spreading the ashes on Monday, August 19, at 1 p.m at Anini Beach.
