KAPAA —The Rev. Ryan D. Newman will be installed today as Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Preschool in Kapaa.
The Right Reverend Robert L. Fitzpatrick, Fifth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, will install Newman at the 9:30 a.m. service.
After a year-long search, the members of the search committee unanimously recommended in January The Rev. Ryan D. Newman to the Vestry as the candidate most suited to lead All Saints’ at this point in its history.
“We were impressed with Ryan’s openness and the energy and enthusiasm that were so evident throughout the process,” said David Murray, All Saints’ Junior Warden and Chair of the Search Committee.
Newman served the past 11 years as the Head Chaplain and Director of Operations at Campbell Hall Episcopal School in North Hollywood, Calif.
“Throughout his career, he has been both an architect and a builder of groups, communities, programs, strategic visions, and even physical spaces,” according to a press release.
Rev. Newman has been married for 10 years to Dr. Erin Gregg Newman, a board certified physician. She will continue her medical career serving the people of Kauai at the Kapaa Clinic and Wilcox Hospital. They live in Kapaa with their two dogs.
“We have been coming to Kauai for many years. God opened this door for us to work and live on Kauai — it was a call we accepted with arms wide open,” The Rev. Newman said in a press release.
“Erin and I are really looking forward to the opportunity to make a big impact on Kauai’s community.”
