Tree Tunnel closed Saturday for cleanup

KOLOA – The Tree Tunnel portion of Maluhia Road will be closed on Saturday, July 13, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., to allow community groups to clean the gateway to the South Shore in preparation for the Koloa Plantation Days.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted to Piko, Omao and Koloa roads.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all posted signs.

The Tree Tunnel beautification project is spearheaded by the Poipu Beach Resort Association in partnership with other community organizations.

Anyone who would like to participate in the cleanup can call Stella Burgess, 240-6369.

For more information about the road closure, call Scott Suga with the Roads Division, 241-4844.
