Peter R. Saker DMD
Peter R. Saker DMD, 64, of Lihue passed away at home on June 9, 2013. Born on October 31, 1948 in New Orleans Louisiana, he was a Dentist with Ho’ola Lahui Hawaii Community Health Center.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Sarmento-Saker; stepson, Kevin K. (Naomi) Vidinha of Kekaha; daughter, Christine Ann (Toni) Ahlbrecht of Tigard OR and stepdaughter, Amy Vidinha of Kapaa; six brothers, Richard Saker of Aurora CO, David J. Saker of Houston TX, Joseph D. (Josephine) Saker of Philippines, Louie Saker of Sarasota FL, Russ Saker of Wichita KS, and Michael Saker of Wichita KS; five sisters, Dorothy Maram of Schaumburg IL, Anna Grace (Robert) Deschino of Highlands Ranch CO, Cabrini (Jerry) Nolls of Cheyenne WY, Mary Cox of Sarasota FL, and Bernedette (Kevin) Luebking of Altus OK; three grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 am, on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Service will begin at 10:00 am; burial will follow at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery. Casual attire.

Estanisloa ‘Islao’ Ancheta
Estanisloa “Islao” D. Ancheta of Kealia, Kauai, passed away on June 9, 2013, at his home at the age of 97. He was born on November 10, 1915 in the Philippines. He was a retired Irrigator with the Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Rosenda Anchesta; his four sons; Raymond (Sandra) Ancheta; Benjamin (Stacy) Ancheta; Stanley Ancheta; Eugene Ancheta; one daughter, Alvina (Tony) Baduria; two sisters, Caridad Calibuso; Encarnation Fernando; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa from 8:00 am to 9:45 am where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Family suggests omit flowers and casual attire.

Mary Ann Punua
Mary Ann Ku’uleialoha Punua, “Auntie Ku’ulei” of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii. She passed away on Sunday June 23, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. She was born on March 30, 1934 in Ho’olehua, Moloka’i.
She was a Kumu Hula and Professional Hula Dancer.
She is preceded in death by: parents, Alexander and Violet Jesse; brother, Leroy Jesse.
She is survived by: husband, Victor Punua Sr.; sons, Victor (Cheryle) Punua Jr.; John Punua; Wallis (Shana) Punua; Edward (Vanessa) Punua; daughter, Kuuleialoha (Yossi) Johnson; sister, Edith Mar; brother, Leonard Jesse; 11 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren; Numerous Aunties, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at All Saints Church, Kapaa visitation 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. service at 11:00 a.m.

Danhichi ‘Danny’ Kaneshiro
Danhichi “Danny” Kaneshiro, 83, of Omao Kauai passed away at home on June 21, 2013. Born on August 4, 1929 in Koloa, he was a meat cutter with Big Save.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ushi and Kama Kaneshiro; brothers, Sei Kaneshiro, Seiko Kaneshiro, and Susumu Kaneshiro; sisters, Tomi Kaneshiro and Kimie Kageyama.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin and Vernon; brothers, Seiso Kaneshiro, Mamoru Kaneshiro, and James Kaneshiro; sister, Yone Gushiken; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Private Service was held. The family requests no koden.

Yoshie Uyesono
Yoshie Uyesono, 84, of Hanamaulu passed away at Garden Isle Rehab and LTC on June 18, 2013. He was born on June 10, 1929 in Puhi, Kauai, she was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Haruyuki Uyesono.
She is survived by her sons, Calvin (Jolynne) Uyesono of Puhi and Myles (Karen) Uyesono of Wailua; daughters, Lynn (Henry) Kusaka of Lihue and Sandy Magnussen of Wailua; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Private Service was held.

Bart ‘Koa’ Kort
Bart “Koa” Kort of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on June 21, 2013 at home. He was born on August 7, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a senior loan originator for First Cal Kauai.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Joe and Harriett Kort.
He is survived by: wife, Jo Kort, Kapaa; sister, Stephanie (Jerry) Wilkinson, California; Hanai Brother, Allen “Ala” (Kahili) Alapai, Hanalei; Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
