Raymond Espino Jr.
Raymond “Kokosoy” Espino Jr., 55, of Hanapepe passed away at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital on June 10, 2013. Born on March 29, 1958 in Waimea, Kauai, he was a Heavy equipment operator with the County of Kauai.
Preceded in death by his mother, Carol Cabacungan Espino. He is survived by his wife, Linda Marie McDaniels-Espino; four daughters, Tiffany Espino-Tubon of Honolulu, Carlina Marie Espino-Balino of Hanapepe, Victoria Ann Espino of Hanapepe, and Alana Lian Espino of Koloa; father, Raymond Espino Sr.; two brothers, Robby Lee Espino and Anson Makana Espino, both of Kaumakani; two sisters, Melanie Espino Honjo of Kalaheo, and Lorelei “Lola” Espino-Campos of Kipu; seven grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Kauai Christian Fellowship. Friends may visit with the family from 9am; service will begin at 11am.

Stanley Carvalho
Stanley Manuel Carvalho of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2013, at the age of 76. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on June 5, 1936, and retired from Lihue Sugar Plantation as a supervisor from the Hanamaulu Tractor Shop.
Preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Leina’ala Carvalho; parents, Manuel and Georgina Carvalho; daughter, Raymonda Haney; sister-in-law, Espy Oana; brother-in-law, John Ornellas.
He is survived by five sons, Darryl Kaina Carvalho, Duane Kaleo Carvalho, Destry Kalama Carvalho, Dawson Kaili (Trisha Inanod) Carvalho, Mitch (Trisha) Fanning; grandchildren, Kaison Carvalho, Kainani Inanod, La’akea Iseri-Carvalho, Deshayne’e Iseri-Carvalho, Gabriel Fanning, Elijah Tussing, Kalei (Ricky Rego)Cardinez, Kanani (Harvey) Makekau, Mikey (Carolan) Cardinez, Tyrus “TC” Cardinez; brothers, Bernard Carvalho Sr., Glenn (Ruth) Carvalho; sisters, Yvonne (Masa) Camat, Beverly (Norman Sr.) Holt; brothers-in-law, Stanely Oana Jr., Rossiter (Vicki) Oana Sr.; sister-in-law, Flora Ornellas; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Catherine Church with viewing from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Carvalho family with arrangements.
Tomoko Watanabe
Tomoko Watanabe, 94, of Lihue Kauai, passed away at home on June 11, 2013. Born on November 1, 1918 in Lawai Kauai, she was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Watanabe; and son, Thomas Watanabe.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Janet) Watanabe; daughters, Shirley Hashimoto, Ann (Richard) Ogata, and Kay Kano; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A private service was held. The family requests no koden. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
