There is no shortage of drinks and cocktails at the Bull Shed. Although its known primarily for its prime rib dinner, the Bull Shed has an array of island-style drinks and “Old School” cocktails.
When I asked General Manager Robin Dame what the Bull Shed’s signature cocktails were, he pointed out three cocktails — The Cosmo, the Black and Blue Martini and the Twisted Chi Chi.
The Cosmo and the Black and Blue Martini are part of the Bull Shed’s “Old School” cocktail menu. There eight cocktails in all and they range from $6.75 to $10.
The Cosmo
The Cosmo was created by one of the Bull Shed’s bartenders. It’s a strong blend of Kettle One vodka, a splash of cranberry and a dab of lime juice. It is shaken over ice. The Cosmo is priced at $7.50.
The Black and Blue Martini
The Black and Blue Martini is in-your-face and simple. It consists of Russian Standard Black Label vodka that is shaken with ice and served with two olives stuffed with blue cheese. This smooth, dirty martini runs for $8.50.
Both of these “Old School” cocktails are stronger than your normal cocktail. I like a sweet cocktail from time to time, but my heart is a sucker for cocktails such as these — tasty, strong and smooth.
On the other side of the menu are the Island-style drinks. If the “Old School” cocktails are too strong, you can be assured that these drinks will leave you with a sweet taste in your mouth. There are seven drinks in all and they range from $6.75 to $7.
Twisted Chi Chi
If you watched “Going Native,” a “South Park” episode that caricatured Kaua‘i, you’ll remember the “natives” raving about their prized drink — the Chi Chi. Well, the Bull Shed has it and I’m happy to say that it’s a delicious drink that anyone would be happy to sample. The Twisted Chi Chi, $6.75, consists of Hawaiian dka, pineapple juice and coconut syrup. It is poured over ice and is dashed with a pinch of nutmeg.
