FULLTERTON, Calif. — University of Hawai‘i swept California State University, Fullerton, 14-2 in five innings and 8-4 on Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field. Hawai‘i raised its record to 33-7 overall and 11-0 in the Big West. The ‘Bows have now won their last 13 games — 11 of which has come in conference.
Senior southpaw Kaia Parnaby earned a pair of complete game wins over Cal State Fullerton, raising her overall record to 30-3 and 10-0 in Big West games. She became just the third pitcher to earn 30 wins in a single-season in UH history. She tied Stephanie Ricketts at 30 (set in 2010) and is chasing Melissa Coogan’s program record of 32 set in 2003.
Senior centerfielder Kelly Majam led UH at the plate, hitting .600 in the two games (3 for 5) with two doubles, two walks and seven runs scored.
Sophomre catcher Kayla Wartner and freshman Keiki Carlos both hit .571 (4 for 7). Wartner scored four runs with two doubles and a home run with a team-high six RBIs while Carlos smacked a triple and a home run with three RBI.
Kaua‘i’s Jessica Iwata finished a combined 2 for 6 with three RBIs.
