Happy Camper for Monday, February 25

Kudos to the organizers of the Waimea Town Celebration on another great event! Kurt Toma was welcoming people to the Westside while making his way to the beer garden where he was helping and Ala Perreira was doing the WTC T-shirt sales. Esther Estes (didn’t we just see her at Matson for Project Grad?) was busy registering people for the Captain Cook Caper.

Aletha Kaohi had some great help at the West Kaua‘i Visitor Center with the Paniolo Hat Lei Contest and the Ni‘ihau Shell exhibition.

Paul Arrington may have retired from coaching volleyball, but is busier with his Pololu ‘Ukulele. He said it takes him about 60 hours to create an instrument — when he can get into the shop.

Jan Matsukawa was busy helping Shinil Quilty with the new aroma beads (it really works!), and over at the West Kaua‘i Methodist Church booth, even Judge Randal Valenciano had to take his turn tending malasadas.

Mahalo to Arthur Brun for the ono flying saucers from the Waimea Blue Jays booth, right next door to Coach Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes’ smoked meat plate for the West Kaua‘i Lions Club.
