LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i County Prosecuting Attorney Justin Kollar has suffered a broken hip.
Kollar reported Wednesday that he is presently out of the office to take care of a broken hip, but that he remains in close contact with his staff on a daily basis, according to county spokeswoman Beth Tokioka.
“In the meantime, First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Takata is in charge,” Tokioka said. “OPA continues to move forward with its work as it normally would and Justin will return to the office as soon as he is able.”
No details were given on the extent of Kollar’s injury or when he will be able to return to work. He apparently suffered the injury while conducting some seasonal domestic chores outside of his home.
Kollar, 39, was elected as County Prosecuting Attorney last November and took office on Dec. 3, 2012.
