Woman hit by falling tree
KALAHEO – A 54-year-old Kalaheo woman suffered injuries to her ankle when a tree fell on her. The woman, whom county officials did not identify, was standing near the tree in the parking lot of Kuikuilono Golf Course in Kalaheo at approximately 5:37 p.m. when the tree fell.
She was taken to Wilcox Hospital for treatment.
A high wind warning is in effect for Kaua‘i today, with National Weather Service officials warning that the winds — expected to be in the 20 to 35 miles per hour range, with gusts as high as 50 mph — could bring down more tree branches across the state.
