Kilauea Lighthouse Village project architect promoted
HONOLULU — Jennifer Toba-Davila, AIA, D.Arch., LEED AP has been promoted to associate with Shimokawa + Nakamura.
Toba-Davila is the current project architect for the Kilauea Lighthouse Village, University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center LEED Program, and Hyatt Regency Waikiki Model Guestroom and Colony Meeting Room Renovations.
Born and raised on Maui, Toba-Davila has been with S+N since August 2009.

Johnson Controls names Peck energy solutions general manager
MILWAUKEE — Ted Peck was recently promoted by Johnson Controls to serve as energy solutions general manager for its building efficiency business in Hawai‘i, Guam and the South Pacific regions.
Peck joins Johnson Controls with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in energy management, including development of the Hawai‘i Clean Energy Initiative as the state’s energy administrator.
A retired Navy nuclear submarine officer, Peck earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
In 2010, Peck entered the private sector where he continued to focus on reducing the state’s dependency on fossil fuel through the use of renewable energy.
In 2004, he was named a “Forty Under 40” by Pacific Business News and in 2006 became a Pacific Century Fellow.
Peck was selected as one of state’s “20 Leaders For the Next 20 Years” by Hawai‘i Business Magazine in 2010.
Peck will lead the company’s effort to help public and private sector organizations combat rising utility costs, improve operations and limit environmental impact.
Operating in Hawai‘i since 1961, Johnson Controls has more than 100 customers in Hawai‘i including Kaua‘i Community College, the University of Hawai‘i community colleges and Kaiser Permanente.
Johnson Controls, the global leader in building efficiency, operates from three branch offices and employs more than 95 local residents.
Kleenco begins transition to new leadership
HONOLULU — Kleenco Corp., announced last week that it will begin moving company leadership to Scott Paul.
Kleenco Corporation, a 41-year-old kama‘aina company, specializes in commercial, industrial, and institutional cleaning.
On Kaua‘i, the company provides commercial and cleaning services for several clients.
Paul, a Honolulu business executive, began serving as chief executive officer on Jan. 7 after acquiring a
controlling interest in Kleenco.
Dan Perry will continue with the company, lending his extraordinary industry experience to the partnership with Paul. Perry is a veteran of the commercial cleaning and janitorial services industry, and a serial entrepreneur, having launched more than 40 enterprises since moving to Hawai‘i in 1960 with the U.S. Navy.
Kleenco’s existing management will remain unchanged.
Prior to joining Kleenco, Paul served in various executive roles from 2003 to 2012 at Hoku Corporation, a Hawai‘i-based solar energy and polysilicon products and services company.
Most recently, Paul was Hoku’s CEO from 2010 to 2012, during a period when the global solar manufacturing industry underwent massive reductions in pricing, commoditization of polysilicon and substantial consolidation.
Paul resigned from Hoku in 2012 and continues serving on its board of directors.
