Helicopter companies should heed the FAA
Mr. Bob Polli’s Jan. 11, “Profitability over safety” is on target.
Because of the terrible accident record of Hawaiian helicopter tour operators, the FAA adopted a special federal air regulation for commercial helicopter tour operators in Hawai‘i. But, no one pays them any heed and the FAA doesn’t come around to check compliance.
