KALAHEO — Kama‘aina have an opportunity to enjoy two seasonal offerings from Kaua‘i Coffee Saturday during the Kaua‘i Coffee Holiday Open House at its Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Melissa Gregory of the Kaua‘i Coffee Marketing Department said there are two seasonal holiday offerings, which are available at the Visitor Center and will be discounted for kama‘aina during the open house.
“Kama‘aina get a 15 percent discount Saturday,” Gregory said. “But the big bonus is free shipping to the Mainland on both Saturday and Sunday.”
Gregory was serving up samples at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Christmas craft fair Sunday, noting the NTBG Gift Shop carries Kaua‘i Coffee’s Kaua‘i Estate in medium and dark roasts, plus a coconut flavored coffee.
One of the two holiday blends offered by Kaua‘i Coffee include the Holiday Spice, which is only available as ground. The Holiday Spice uses premium Kaua‘i Coffee with a flavoring, which gives it a cinnamon and nutmeg orientation.
The Hawaiian Holiday Blend can be purchased either ground or whole bean and is a blend of premium Kaua‘i Coffee beans.
In addition to the specials, the Holiday Open House features a 4H Petting Zoo, photos with Santa, cooking demonstrations by Kaua‘i Community College culinary arts students and members of the Kaua‘i Grown program, plus a variety of food trucks and games with prizes and bounce houses.
Visitors can also enjoy the coffee roasting demonstrations, take part in the Kaua‘i Coffee “Sweetstakes” and help the community by bringing in a canned good or non-perishable item to help The Salvation Army.
The annual event allows residents and visitors to learn more about Kaua‘i Coffee.
The Kaua‘i Coffee Visitor Center allows people to stroll through a coffee orchard, enjoy the hospitality from its gift shop staff and taste the various estate coffees.
Located at 870 Halewili Road, just west of Kalaheo town, the shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with special hours for Christmas Eve (9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and closed on Christmas Day.
