Moses Hamilton is one of the special reasons to visit the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Christmas craft fair. Besides Moses, it’s not Christmas until you hear Anela Lauren on the harp (she was joined by Mary MacDermott doing vocals this year). And Paul Togioka needs to get that banjo out for some “Jingle Bells.”
Melissa Gregory of Kaua‘i Coffee (they’ve got their open house on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) couldn’t believe how many people wanted to pay for the free samples, and was nice to see Pam Woolway and Carol Everett who had “Adopt Me” animals from the Kaua‘i Humane Society out for a field trip. Melissa said Kaua‘i Coffee has two special holiday items, a Holiday Spice (flavored coffee) and the Hawaiian Holiday Blend (both on special Saturday at the Open House).
Marie Petro (Mrs. Coach) had painted gourds for the holidays this year, the gourdy Santas being joined by some nice artwork from Bob Heyn. Those gourds are probably still available at the NTBG South Shore Visitor Center gift shop.
OK, off to more holiday rehearsals.
