HANALEI — Ocean Safety officials announced Tuesday morning that Hanalei Bay was open again for swimming, according to a Kaua‘i County announcement. It had been closed since Monday afternoon due to shark sightings.
Lifeguard had reported sighting two large sharks roughly a hundred feet from shore fronting a surf spot known as “Pine Trees.”
“No swimming” signs were posted and the public was advised to stay out of the water.
