Art Umezu was on hand to cheer on Rumi Otani, the Iwaki City runner, and Laurie Yoshida was everywhere with husband Vernon.
Hats off to Dickie Chang on a great job emcee-ing the event and Ron Wiley did a great job announcing the names while providing updates on the full marathon leaders.
Valerie Roland said she had to get up early to make sure all the lights were on at the Po‘ipu Shopping Village and even had time to chat with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. (Mary Daubert was one of the runners) before everything started.
Aunty Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza was everywhere, getting torches to the torch bearers and coordinating the medal presenters.
