‘ELE‘ELE — A traffic collision Monday morning briefly closed Kaumuali’i Highway in Ele‘ele. At approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to a call of a collision in the vicinity of mile marker 13, according to a County of Kaua‘i news release.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to a call of a collision in the vicinity of mile marker 13, according to a County of Kaua‘i news release.
A green Toyota sedan, driven by a 25-year-old Kalaheo man, was traveling west when it crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound gold Hyundai, said the report. Westbound traffic on was re-routed to Halewili Road for roughly 15 minutes.
The 30-year-old female driver of the Hyundai was not injured.
The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries. He was treated by medics at the scene and released.
