Pre-registration for the Special Olympics Kaua‘i 10th annual Benefit Ride will take place Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kukui Grove Center in the food court area.
This is a new aspect of the popular fundraising effort for the Special Olympics Kaua‘i, said Shelly Gerardo in an email.
“This year, in an effort to streamline our registration process, we will be offering pre-registration,” Gerardo said. “Riders will be able to register for the ride and get their T-shirts, tank tops, lunch tickets and lucky number tickets to avoid waiting in line at the ride on Aug. 26 at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.”
Gerardo said hosting a pre-registration will also allow Kukui Grove shoppers and the public to pick up the T-shirts and tank tops while being able to view some of the Harley-Davidson motorcycles on display by Kaua‘i Harley-Davidson and Harley owners on Kaua‘i.
“Whether riding or not, anyone can pick up our beautiful commemorative T-shirts and tank tops,” Gerardo said.
Additionally, online registration forms and more information for motorcycle and automobile enthusiasts are available online at the Special Olympics Kaua‘i Facebook page.
Special Olympics Kaua‘i 10th annual Benefit Ride will take place Aug. 26 at the convention hall with registration opening from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. The convoy leaves the parking area at 10 a.m.
The event is open to all motorcycles, hotrods, classic cars, imports and the general public.
A minimum donation of $20 earns the rider a free commemorative T-shirt or tank top. Each additional T-shirt is available at $20 each.
Lunch-only tickets are available for $7 each.
Lucky number drawings, prizes and a silent auction will be available from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the public is invited to visit and meet Special Olympics Kaua‘i athletes, enjoy ono food, the silent auction, lucky number prizes or just view the motorcycles and automobiles on display before the convoy leaves.
“This is our most popular event of the year and we invite everyone to participate in the ride. Come down to see all of these beautiful machines in the same place at the same time and check out the great offerings at our silent auction,” Gerardo said.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
