The public is invited to participate in a free self defense class sponsored by the Kajukenbo Ministry on July 14 at the King’s Chapel in Hanama‘ulu.
“This is open to the whole family, including men, women, boys and girls,” said Melissa Nobriga, a member of King’s Chapel. “This is especially for any female graduates going away to college, or single females who should learn how to stay safe, avoid being a victim and becoming more empowered.”
Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. with instruction taking place from 9 a.m. to noon.
Participants are encouraged to wear loose clothing and a concession stand will be available for lunch.
Great Grand Master Jaime Basquez of Kaua‘i will be joined by Kailani Koa of Maui in teaching practical techniques which are effective and easy to execute in a real hands-on approach to self defense.
