Andrew Ken Higa
Andrew Ken Higa of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, died at Queens Memorial Hospital on May 28, 2012, at the age of 59.
He was born in Honolulu on Aug. 29, 1952. He had been currently employed in the maintenance department at Kaua‘i Marriott Hotel. He had also worked at Coco Palms Hotel, Kaua‘i Surf Hotel, Agape Painting Co. and Kaua‘i Resorts Hotel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Senkai Higa; and his sister, Caroline Okimoto of O‘ahu.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Blume-Higa; daughter, Karalee Higa of Kapa‘a; mother, Yae Higa, Honolulu and three brothers William (Sueko) Higa, Howard Higa, and Frederick Higa all from Honolulu; brother-in-law Timothy (Irene) Blume of Kapa‘a and brother-in-law, Richard Okimoto.
He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 16, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church with viewing at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m., refreshments to follow. The family request casual attire and flowers to be omitted.
