LIHU‘E — In an effort to reduce overtime expenses in fiscal year 2013, the county will be implementing changes next month in the operating hours at the Kekaha Landfill and the transfer stations, a county release states.
These changes are projected to result in a reduction of $266,000 in overtime expenses for the year.
Effective July 1, the landfill and transfer stations will be open to the public as follows:
• Kekaha Landfill – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Transfer stations – 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All county departments are expected to better manage overtime costs and realize savings over current levels in the coming fiscal year.
