No arrests made after altercation

NAWILIWILI — A man was transported to the hospital after a Monday night altercation at Nawiliwili Beach Park, but no charges were filed or arrests made in the case.

According to a county spokesperson, the Kaua‘i Police Department responded to reports of an altercation near Pine Trees around 9:15 p.m.

A witness said an argument between two men  escalated and turned violent, and ended with one punching the other repeatedly in the face.  

While the county spokesperson said one of the men reported minor injuries, the witness described the beating as severe.

 The man was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for medical treatment, according to the county.
